DCMS Strategic Plan 2015-2018
Purposes of DCMS:
1. To promote the science and art of medicine,
2. To better public heath,
3. To promote collegiality,
4. To bring together the physicians of Dane County, and
5. To unite with the other county societies to form the Wisconsin Medical Society.
Vision Statement:
The Dane County Medical Society: the unified voice of doctors, advocating for their patients, their profession and a better health care system.
Goals and Objectives:
Goal 1: Improve the public’s health in Dane County
o Objective A: Take inventory and share opportunities to support public health efforts in Dane County
o Objective B: Maintain involvement in the Dane County Health Council
o Objective C: Invest a minimum of $5,000 of DCMS funds per year into community initiatives, preferably ones that involve DCMS members through the grant process
Goal 2: Increase membership, membership retention and member engagement
o Objective A: Regularly communicate with members through periodical e-newsletter, new member welcome emails from BOT members and through social media to increase communication to members that outlines benefits and opportunities.
o Objective B: Regularly invite members to attend BOT meetings as guests
o Objective C: Maximize attendance at DCMS Annual Meeting
o Objective D: Offer additional event to better connect residents and students
Goal 3: Increase opportunity for DCMS members to advocate for patients and our profession
o Objective A: Maximize participation in the WMS Annual House of Delegates Meeting
o Objective B: Encourage members to attend WMS Doctor Day
o Objective C: Dedicate at least one BOT meeting with focus on opportunity to meet with policy makers
