Apply for a DCMS Grant
DCMS welcomes grant requests from non-profit organizations servicing Wisconsin residents. Grants are made to organizations or projects that contribute to the overall health and welfare of the people of Wisconsin. The maximum amount awarded to any applicant is $2,000 per year. DCMS will focus on funding unestablished or pilot projects.
The DCMS Grants Committee reviews grants once per year. Applications must be submitted by May 1st for review at the June meeting. DCMS may consider grant requests at other times of the year in extraordinary circumstances. Grant applications must be submitted online by May 1st.
Guidelines:
The DCMS has funds available for grant requests on an annual basis and gives priority to projects that meet the criteria listed below.
- DCMS members are active participants in the project or organization and there is a special emphasis on Dane County
- Improves the health of patients or provides patient or public education
- Special or one-time projects that are not part of the organizations on-going operational expenses
- Involves physicians, residents and/or medical students and graduate students
- Yields substantial benefits to the community for the resources invested
- Promotes cooperation among organizations or agencies without duplicating services
- Supports the strategic plan of DCMS
The DCMS does not award grants to:
- support on-going operating expenses of well-established organizations or to eliminate previously incurred deficits
- mature endowment funds
- governmental agencies
